Quick tips and best practices for installing the Wattr pool controller

Professional Installation Required

Wattr controllers must be installed by certified pool professionals. These tips are intended as a quick reference guide for certified installers. For complete instructions, please refer to the full installation manual.

Quick Installation Tips

Preparation

  • Ensure power is disconnected before starting installation
  • Check that your DIN rail has sufficient space (6 modules)
  • Verify network connectivity is available near the installation location
  • Have all required tools ready: screwdriver, wire stripper

Electrical Wiring

  • Use 230VAC power supply with an automatic circuit breaker(2A)
  • Connect Modbus RS-485 if applicable, pay attention to A/+ and B/- polarity
  • Use shielded cables for sensor connections and modbus lines
  • Relay contacts are potential free (dry contacts); no voltage supply is provided

Initial Configuration

  • Make sure your controller is powered on and connected to the network
  • Download the Wattr app
  • Follow the step-by-step wizard in the app

Water Level Control

  • Make sure you mounted the float switch at the correct height to ensure proper water level detection
  • Pay special attention to NO/NC switch configuration
  • Set a maximum fill time during configuration to avoid overfilling - as suggested during configuration
  • Set an extra fill duration to avoid frequent on/off switching of the water inlet valve - as suggested during configuration
  • Use a fill delay between low level detection and valve activation to avoid false triggers from waves or splashes - as suggested during configuration

Buffer Tank Control

  • Ensure the buffer tank level sensor is properly installed and communication is verified
  • The red tube is for air venting; make sure it is not obstructed
  • During configuration, set the desired height levels for pump protection and optimal water level management
  • Choose the level thresholds carefully; in case of doubt, consult the installer platform for historical water level data
  • Pay special attention to the filling thresholds, when set too high, the buffer tank may overfill when pool level is lowered - overflow mode is stopped when the pool level is below the buffer tank filling threshold
